*Disclaimer* *This may be to much information for some people...so if you are inclined to not like these kinds of things...please do not read any further* *Oh...and I totally got this from Drew...it is his term...AND I promised him his own special blog for it's description...so here's to you Drew!* LOL! What is crop dusting? I am sure you are asking this question because I am obviously not talking about the airplane that releases chemical dusts over crops. I had never heard this term used in any other way until my cousins came for their visit a couple of weeks ago. We were walking through Gatlinburg (down the strip) and Keith decided that he was walking to far in front of the group so he decided to get behind us slower folks so he wouldn't get separated from us. When asked as to why he moved to the bag of the herd he said that he just didn't want to loose us, Kristie said he probably just moved to the back for another reason, and Drew said he was crop dusting. We all stopped and kinda looked at him for a second and then he began to explain as we walked further. Crop dusting *in kiddo friendly terms* is where someone is walking in a group of people and they let a silent *toot* go "dusting" the people around them. Yep...that's it. And let me tell you that Drew is an expert in the fine art of crop dusting...in fact he did it in one of the stores. Mind you he said, "I didn't think you would go back that way!" So, note to self *NEVER and I mean NEVER back track in a store or follow in a group a known crop duster* This just may save you an awkward and sickening moment. I guess that is all and I hope that I have described it acurately enough for Drew! Other more mundane things going on around here right now are....
1. I have been painting and painting. While I enjoy the first few layers of a painting...I cannot seem to get it to look "finished". I don't know what my problem is, but as soon as I have lost this block I will post photos so you can see how things are going.
2. I started my first drawing class last night. We were given objects to draw (boxes, sphere, cone, apple, and pumpkin)...while this seems easy we all had a hard time with the boxes. So our next exercise was just boxes! Yikes...I never knew these things could be so difficult! I mean I drew my boxes and thought they looked pretty good, but in reality they were close but not right. So she taught us many techniques like gridding (not the kind where you actually draw a grid), ratios and proportion, angles and how to get the right ones, and positive and negative space ALL without a ruler. I was quite impressed although I am no where close to mastering the concepts...lol! So this week we are supposed to take time drawing box shapes around our house....ahhh.....it's going to be a long week!
3. I am traveling to Nashville this weekend to pick up Austin (who has been visiting my parents this week), hang out with some friend (woo hoo!), and attend my 10 year high school reunion (I thought this only happened to old people..lol). So I will be mia for the next few days!
4. Monday, Austin has another visit to the specialist about his achilles tendon. Cross your fingers for him...he wants out of this boot so bad, but I don't know that it is going to happen *sigh*
5. Our visiting house guest has gone..she finished her internship and went back home yesterday.
6. My friend Becca is taking a seminar this week in Athens, TN which is 45min-1hr away...so I will be spending some time with her this week! YAY!
7. Other than that it is more of the same old thing around here....just livin the crazy life!
