Day 1:
Our first day in England was spent on a day trip to Warwick Castle, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Oxford.
Our first stop was Warwick Castle. It was a bit foggy but pretty neat. Our favorite part was all the armor and scenery. Beautiful.
We left Warwick Castle and headed over to the home of William Shakespeare at Stratford-Upon-Avon.
We then made our way to Oxford. The town was lovely...especially Christ's Church. Our favorite part was all of the beautiful architecture...esp. the gargoyles.
When we got home, we walked around for a while in London. We found Picadilly Circus which is similar to our times square. It was so busy, but a lot of fun :)
Day 2: We went on a day trip on the second day to Stonehenge and Bath. It was a neat trip. Stonehenge was VERY cold and windy, but Bath was gorgeous!
The BJ had to go and take pictures of the sheep
Here are the Roman Baths
Day 3: On our 3rd day, we took the train from London to Paris, France. We were able to see many fabulous sights!
We began with the Eiffel Tower
Here is a photo of Franklin D. Roosevelt road which was next to the Champs Elysees
Here is Austin in front of THE Mona Lisa
The Louvre
Notre Dame Cathedral
Austin in front of the Seine
Day 4: On day 4, we flew to Edinburgh, Scotland. We were there for Day 4 and Day 5. We visited the castle and saw the crown jewels and the stone of destiny. We also walked around the old part of town. It was absolutely beautiful. Of all the places we have visited, we loved Scotland the most. It felt almost like home :)
Day 6: This was our last day. We spent the day in London visiting most of the big sights.
This is the famous Tower Bridge - by the Tower of London
This is one of the ravens that are kept on sight at the Tower of London. It flew up this close to me.
This is the memorial on the grounds where Henry VIII's wives were beheaded.
This is one of the Towers in the towers of London...it is the one that houses the crown jewels.
We left the tower of London and decided to head to Buckingham Palace. As we drove past Big Ben we noticed that a ton of people were gathered and we asked the cab driver what was going on and he said the Queen was supposed to address Parliament as a part of her Diamond Jubilee. He said she would be heading that way soon and we might get to see her leave. About that time, they stopped traffic and the Queen rode ride next to us!!!! We saw THE Queen of England! It was amazing!
Buckingham Palace
Ladies feeding the birds...reminds me of Mary Poppins :)
This is Number 10 Downing Street where the Prime Minister lives:
Westminster Abbey
Big Ben and Parliament
The London Eye
St. Paul's Cathedral
Of course, these are just a few of the pictures we got. We had a great time!
