Conceptual Painting in Oil

That is the name of the class that I took this summer. It was all about making sure that you had a concept for your painting and really thinking about your painting before slinging paint.

So...for my first painting, I chose the title "Yoga". I chose 5 words....center, breath, movement, nature, balance. I decided to use colors that reminded me of yoga and here is the finished product...

For my second painting, I wanted to paint jellyfish. I love their movement, how organic they are, and I just think they are beautiful (in those aquariums...in real life not so much :) ). So here is my take on jellyfish.

For my third and final painting, I chose to do a pop art piece. I decided to use the jellyfish again, but I gave them a very different look. This is definitely not my best painting, nor did I enjoy it, but I attempted it and finished it. I just want to say to anyone that can paint so precisely and perfectly...my hat's off to you! Here is my pop art attempt...

Well, I guess that is enough for today...I know I still need to post some Pittsburgh pics, but that can wait until next time :)
