Today is the anniversary of a day that many people will remember for a long time. I have heard several people asking "do you remember what you were doing on Sept 11th". I can still remember vividly. I was getting ready for school and had the tv on but was not paying attention to it. I got Austin ready and we headed for Granny Pat's. She stopped me when I got there and asked me about what was going on. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. She showed me the news and I was dumbstruck. I had no idea what to think other than...I need to get to class or I'll get in trouble. So I headed off to school. When I got on campus the news was all everyone was talking about. Our Music History professor decided to leave the news behind and continue on with class. So I took notes and finished the hour and fifteen minute class. After that class, I left school (skipping choir) and headed to my parents house. My dad had recently had surgery and was home recovering. I went over there and fixed lunch and hung out and watched the news with him. In the evening I got my stuff together and headed back to Granny Pat's to pick up Austin. Once we got home, we had dinner and watched the news all evening. It was just like I was numb. I could not comprehend the events that were unfolding. I lit candles and placed them on the porch in rememberance of those that had lost their lives. I have continued this tradition every year and tonight is no exception. Today is a day to remember and also a day to give thanks that we were spared. My thoughts go to all of those affected by the tragedy of Sept 11th....
I will leave you with a photo of my cousin. He was killed in Iraq in April of 2005. While I was not very close to him, my dad was and took it very hard...they called him little Bill and of course my dad was big Bill. So even if you were not affected directly by the events of 9/11 please take a moment and say a little prayer for all of those that lost their lives and all of the military that continue to protect and serve.

So sorry for your loss.
you have been tagged...check out my blog!
I also remember 9/11 very well. I was doing an internship and out of a sudden the hospital went in stand by. We couldn't make any phone calls as we are a back-up trauma center for NYC. I'm really sorry for your loss.
