New Recipe!

I have now become the cake lady at school which works out good for me because it allows me to get tons of cakes for other people under my belt and helps them out! Also, it is a good way for me to get my name out there. Well, we have a birthday coming up this week and this teachers son is in my class, so I asked him what kind of cake his mom liked. And he said the dreaded..."her absolute favorite cake is yellow cake with chocolate icing." YIKES! I have never made chocolate icing before and the recipe I have did not seem very appealing, but I want her to be happy and figured it was about time to get over my fear of chocolate icing. So tonight I am running a trial run of the icing. It was very thick and not too terribly sweet so I doctored it up and added a few things and it tastes much better. Now to run it past the critics...dh and ds! Other than that we had the pine wood derby this weekend, dh and I went on a date to the movie, and we had church activities to keep us busy. It was so cute that Austin said, "mom this weekend was short!" I just had to remind him that no...last weekend was just long. Lol! Here's hoping for another long weekend soon!
